GROUP SESSIONS ARE DESIGNED TO BE CONVERSATIONAL, CASUAL -PULLING FROM EACH ATHLETES EXPERIENCES. ESTABLISHING A SAFE, TRUSTING SPACE. FROM THE START OF THE FIRST SESSION WE WILL LEARN, GROW, BE BIG, BOLD AND BRIGHT TOGETHER.

SESSION 1-WHAT IS YOUR STORY?

YOUR STORY IS IMPORTANT. THIS IS WHERE WE START. CONNECTING AS A GROUP.

SESSION 2-FIND AND USE YOUR POWER

TO INSPIRE AND TO BE INSPIRED-As an athlete, you have the gift of inspiring others. You are also inspired by those around you. Using that feeling of inspiration as motivation is powerful. Influencing others through inspiring them has a positive and larger reaching outcome.

SHARING YOUR POWER-with teammates, opponents, and coaches. Sharing our power with those around us brings power. It strengthens the good of the whole.  We all have power it is how we share and use it everyday that strengthens it.

STANDING IN YOUR POWER-Owning who you are as an individual. Stand strong in your values and your beliefs. Be open to others and accept them as they stand within their power. Lead with the gift you are. Find your confidence. Know that sharing this within your team and your school will benefit you. It will benefit all around you.

SESSION 3-FUELING YOUR MIND AND BODY

LOVING YOUR BODY and what it does for you everyday. Comparison is the thief of joy. It is hard not to compare. How can we work through this? We should give love to our body that allows us to do what we love to do.

FUELING OUR BODIES and giving them what they need to do all that we ask it to is key. Getting enough of the proteins, carbs, fruits and veggies is huge!!  Knowing how to eat in the morning, at noon, and in the evening is essential. It’s also important to eat pre-workout, during workout, and post-workout. These practices will give you all you need to stay healthy, strong, and full of energy.

SESSION 4-VISUALIZATION/POSITIVE SELF TALK/MENTAL HEALTH-The way you feed your mind is just as important as how you feed your body. On or off the field your mental health and the way you talk to yourself is beyond important. The biggest thing we can all do is discuss it. We must make mental health a normal part of our everyday lives. Positive self-talk should also be part of that routine. Additionally, we should incorporate techniques that support healthy living. 

SESSION 5-LEADERSHIP-Being capable of leading effectively and thoughtfully is an important life skill. Leadership can be loud and extroverted but can also be quiet and introverted. By modeling behaviors and pursuing through with actions leaders can make huge impacts on the communities that surround them.

SESSION 6-WRAP UP CONVERSATION-taking the conversation beyond this experience. You have done the work now it’s time to fly! Staying connected with each other-use each other as support.
